Instrumental Solo - Level 2 - SKU: A0.1271184 By Billie Eilish. By Billie Eilish O'Connell and Finneas O'Connell. Arranged by Thomas Gunther. Children,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 4 pages. Thomas Gunther Music Productions #863576. Published by Thomas Gunther Music Productions (A0.1271184). About the arrangement This is pianist/arranger Thomas Gunther's beautiful and highly accurate piano solo arrangement of the 2023 Barbie Movie features Billie Eilish's song WHAT I WAS MADE FOR. It includes even Billie's quiet humming passages. This solo piano version can be played all by itself, or with Billie's recording of the song.It is easy enough to learn for pianists that have no amazing techniqual skills, but can be challanging in different ways, as explained below. From the Arranger Thomas Gunther The most challenging task when writing this solo piano arrangement of What I Was Made For was to notate Billie's rhythm accurately. Her melodic rhythm is very important as it supports the flow of the lyrics perfectly. Notating a singer's rhythm can unfortunately never be 100% perfect (notation is by definition quantized), but I think I got very close. An other challenge was to get the accompaniment sound like the original without stepping on the melody notes. Looking at my final version I think it is as good as it gets for a piano adaption of this highly emotional song.I really hope all you Billie Eilish fans out there will enjoy playing this arrangement! How difficult is it As mentioned earlier, the song looks simple, but to play it well there is a lot of things the pianist has to take care of. The most challenging aspect is to sustain some notes by either using clever fingering or employing the sustain pedal. Also, dynamics are really important, especially when ballancing the accompaniment against the melody. Fingering I included fingering numbers to give the pianist a starting point. But fingering is a highly subjective affaire. Every pianist should feel free to adapt her/his own fingering as see fit. Sustain pedal usage The sustain pedal usage is very important in this arrangement (I included sustain pedal markings for this very reason). For one, it helps sustaining some notes that can't be held otherwise, and of course to make the sound fuller (more cinematic). It is important to use the pedal to create a sense of space (distance). After all, the original recording uses a lot of reverb to achieve that. Chord Symbols I did not include pop chord symbols because the harmony to the the song is very simple and based around 4 diatonic chords. It would just cludder up the score. At PopJazzKeys.com/Barbie I talk a little bit about the chords.

Connie Boss #915473. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1327432). This lovely lullaby is an Austrian carol from the 1800's. I built from the original by adding extra lyrics and changing up the melody slightly to the end of each verse. The lyrics are from We Three Kings, Silent Night and What Child is This. Each additional lyric ties into the verses of the song and adds an extension to the verse. This version has the verses broken up between the voices until the last verse. There are no repeat endings - it plays all the way through. This is for SATB quartet or choir and piano. Any questions or requests, email cdboss@cvalley.netLyrics:Still, still, stillOne can hear the falling snowFor all is hushedThe world is sleepingHoly Star its vigil keepingStill, still, stillOne can hear the falling snowO star of wonder, star of nightO star with royal beauty brightStill, still, stillOne can hear the falling snowSleep, sleep, sleep'Tis the eve of our Savior’s birthThe night is peaceful all around youClose your eyesLet sleep surround youSleep, sleep, sleep'Tis the eve of our Savior’s birthRound yon virgin, mother and childHoly infant tender and mildSleep, sleep, sleep'Tis the eve of our Savior’s birthDream, dream, dreamOf the joyous day to comeWhile guardian angels without numberWatch you as you sweetly slumberDream, dream, dreamOf the joyous day to comeWhat child is this who laid to restOn mary’s lap is sound asleepDream, dream, dreamOf the joyous day to comeStill, still, still'Tis the eve of our Savior’s birth.

Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 4 - SKU: A0.955729 By Elvis Presley. By Richard Rodgers. Arranged by Phil Thrift. Contemporary. Score and parts. 15 pages. Phil Thrift #5769067. Published by Phil Thrift (A0.955729). Blue Moon is best performed by not telling your audience what is coming! Many listeners will be unfamiliar with the almost recitative-style opening that follows the four-measure intro. So when the well-known tune is finally heard at measure 23, some at least will be pleasantly surprised. But don’t decorate the melody too much here; just enjoy it as it is, let that warm trombone sound shine through! The 2nd trombone can decorate the melody a little more from measure 31 onward, but don’t let any swing feeling creep in before measure 38. You may wish to speed up a bit more than I have indicated at measures 47 and 62, but don’t play the swing sections too fast – this is not an up-tempo version. Just strengthen the swing feeling a little each time. This piece will test your quartet’s ability to play an easy swing really tight – especially when the melody is being pulled around, the lead player is playing a little behind the beat. As is usual with my arrangements, every player has the lead at some point, and maybe the chance to introduce a few of their own ideas. This arrangement gives you plenty of opportunity to exploit those all-important trombone characteristics: slide vibrato, bends, and smears, but above all, a warm sound!Listen to a full-length licensed recording on SoundCloud:

Concert Band - Level 2 - SKU: A0.1235675 By Martin Garrix. By Martijn Garritsen. Arranged by Scaver. 21st Century,Disco,Pop,Video Game. Score and Parts. 41 pages. Scaver #831187. Published by Scaver (A0.1235675). Scaver Music, a renowned concert band arranger, has recently unveiled their latest project: a concert band version of the hit song Animals by Martin Garrix. Originally released as a digital download on iTunes on June 17, 2013, Animals quickly gained popularity within the electronic dance music (EDM) culture, propelling Martin Garrix to become the youngest producer to ever have a song reach number one on Beatport, a prominent electronic music store. The track's infectious beats and energetic melodies captivated listeners, leading it to achieve remarkable success on various music charts. It climbed into the top ten and secured the number one spot on numerous electronic music charts, as well as some mainstream ones. Notably, Animals topped the singles charts in the United Kingdom, French-speaking Switzerland, and Belgium. In the United States, it reached number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and claimed the number one position on the Dance chart. Before its official release, Animals generated significant buzz as it was played anonymously, causing speculation to grow about the artist behind the track. Dutch record label Spinnin' Records fueled the anticipation by sharing a teaser clip of the song online, titled Animals (Teaser). This led to increased speculation, with a Vine video featuring Agnes from the animated film Despicable Me further stoking curiosity. The track was mistakenly attributed to other artists such as Hardwell, GTA, Sidney Samson, and Bassjackers before Martin Garrix's true identity as the producer was revealed.Martin Garrix shared insights into the composition of Animals, explaining that the melody was based on a previous track he had composed two years prior but never released. The drop, characterized by its ruthlessly minimalist and rhythmic sound, is inspired by Busta Rhymes' What It Is. Additionally, the opening section of the song draws inspiration from a track called D.A.T.A. by Aura Qualic. While Animals is predominantly instrumental, it features a spoken verse by a friend of Martin Garrix with the lyrics We're the fucking animals, delivered in a low pitch and repeated twice throughout the song. Now, Scaver Music has taken up the exciting challenge of arranging Animals for a concert band, bringing a fresh interpretation of this electronic dance anthem to a new musical realm. With their expertise in creating captivating arrangements, Scaver Music aims to capture the essence of the original track while adding the rich harmonies, dynamic textures, and powerful brass and woodwind sections that define the concert band sound.Fans of Animals and concert band enthusiasts alike can look forward to experiencing this new rendition, which promises to be a thrilling and unforgettable musical journey. Scaver Music's concert band version of Animals will undoubtedly provide a unique and exhilarating performance, blending the infectious energy of electronic dance music with the grandeur and depth of a full concert band. String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - SKU: A0.942691 By Louis Armstrong With Kenny G. By Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. Arranged by Adam White. Jazz. Score and parts. 9 pages. Adam Michael White #6525825. Published by Adam Michael White (A0.942691). Here is my updated arrangement of Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World for string quartet. After having the privilege of getting a string quartet to play the previous version for me, I came to realize that I did not like it and removed it from this website until I could write a better arrangement. Of the changes that I made, I split up the melody amongst the whole quartet instead of just giving it to the cello, and I changed various voicings, registers, and accompanying rhythms to make it more involved and enjoyable for the performers. However, I would still rate this arrangement for intermediate performers at the very least since there are passages in most of the parts that have the performers playing in the third position. The format of the download is one pdf consisting of the score and parts. I hope you enjoy this arrangement, and happy playing!

Album & Songbook review by: Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com):
I have discovered a real wealth of great solo piano Christmas CDs this year! Isadar?s In Search For the Meaning of Christmas definitely falls into this category! Thoughtful, introspective, and a bit moody, Isadar?s arrangements are true to the carols (with some small melody changes in ?Bring a Torch? and ?Carol of the Bells? that bother me just a little) and still seem very personal. ?Bring a Torch?, ?The Holly and the Ivy?, and ?I Saw Three Ships? are given a lighthearted, joyful treatment. ?Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)?, ?What Child Is This??, ?The Coventry Carol?, and ?Sing We Now of Christmas? are all minor, somber, reverent pieces, and all four are given loving arrangements that keep the dark, mysterious nature of the songs and reflect Isadar?s own sensibilities. ?Carol of the Bells? and Isadar's take on Liz Story?s arrangement of ?Greensleeves? are energetic without losing all abandon. ?Silent Night? and ?It Came Upon a Midnight Clear? present us with a very cold, deep solitude - both feel like late night with moonlight reflecting off the snow. Both are moody, but very beautifully so. George Winston?s ?December? is one of my all-time favorite holiday albums, and I feel In Search For the Meaning of Christmas holds up exceptionally well next to it. This is an excellent collection of Christmas music, and I highly recommend it!
In Search For the Meaning of Christmas is the companion songbook to Isadar?s 1999 solo piano release by the same name. Meticulously transcribed note-for-note by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing, the music is faithful to the recording in every way (except for the pianist - YOU!). The scores are clear, concise, and easy to read, and also include chord indications for improvisation or the use of instruments other than or in addition to the piano. Isadar?s arrangements cover a whole range of emotions, from very dark and somber to joyful and buoyant. All of the pieces from the CD are here, including Isadar?s homage to Liz Story and her beautiful version of ?Greensleeves.? My personal favorites of the eleven songs in this book are the bright and cheerful ?Bring A Torch,? ?What Child Is This??, ?Greensleeves,? the darkly gorgeous ?The Coventry Carol,? and ?Sing We Now of Christmas.? Other titles that I really like are ?Children Go Where I Send Thee/The Holly and the Ivy,? ?Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)," ?Carol of the Bells,? and the effervescent ?Three Ships.? ?Silent? (Silent Night) and ?Midnight? (It Came Upon a Midnight Clear) are a bit too dark for my own holiday tastes, but are interesting and very personal arrangements. This book will make a great addition to your holiday sheet music collection and is available from isadar.com and amazon.com.

Published by B. McCormick (A0.1229673). Elevate your performance with Ed Sheeran's Boat sheet music from his highly anticipated album Subtract. The song Boat is a poignant ballad that speaks to the heart. As Independent.co.uk writes, it's a powerful meditation on depression and hope. With this sheet music, you can bring this emotional power to your performance and really connect with your audience. This sheet music also has everything you need for a successful performance. Whether you're playing with a small group or solo, you'll have all the tools you need to create a beautiful and moving rendition of Boat. And with its digital format, you can practice anytime, anywhere, on any device. So don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to take your performance to the next level. Get Ed Sheeran's Boat sheet music today! Notes about the music This digital sheet music includes the melody on a separate stave, a piano accompaniment, and a short intro, making it perfect for piano instrumentalists, singers, and small groups. To make this piece more accessible I have arranged it in the key of G Major which is a third below the recorded version which is in B Major. This makes the higher notes more attainable to sing for a more people and makes it easier to play for most. Who likes playing with 5 sharps?! Structure In this arrangement there is a slight variation from the structure from the Subtract Recording. As mentioned above a short intro is included which is the melody from the end of the chorus. After this the repeats and D.S markings will follow the form as heard on the recording. On the final chorus rather than playing the bass as written and played for the previous occurrences just playing simple sustained root notes of the chord to bring it all back and give the melody some space for the last time through, this would emulate the feeling in the recording. Melody As with all my arrangements, to try an minimise the number of pages needed, the small note heads in brackets indicate where the melody is different when repeated and these notes should be played/sung on the appropriate verse. The melismatic phrase on boat at the end of bar 37 is a simplification of what is sung on the recording and the performer is free to amend as it suits them. Piano The piano follows a simple chordal harmony and rhythm, the most complicated coming on the final page but this is simply the chord broken up in a way to give more momentum to this section. If you would like a version where the melody is in the right hand of the piano I also have an arrangement of this as a piano reduction which combines the melody with the right hand of the piano part here with some modifications for playability. Alternatives. I have different versions of this piece which may suit different performers/instrumentalists more. All my versions are: Voice Piano and Guitar - Melody on its own stave with guitar chords above it and a piano accompaniment underneath; Voice Piano and Guitar - As above but the melody is combined with the right hand of the piano part; Guitar Lead Sheet - Melody with guitar chords; Ukulele Lead Sheet - Melody with Ukulele chords.

Guitar - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1177383 By Frederic Chopin. By Frédéric Chopin. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. 19th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Instructional,Romantic Period. Guitar Tab. 6 pages. Brian Streckfus #776814. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1177383). Key: Changed from B minor to A minorCapo: 2 (If you want original key, but I wasn't a fan of capo 2; it felt like there was no bass notes.)1. Arranged for guitar. 2. Piano pedal markings removed 3. Phrase markings removed and opted for commas. 4. Re-harmonized 5. Key changed from B minor to A minor. 6. Slurs 7. Left hand fingers 8. Tablature9. Harmonics added when advantageous, but playing the regular note would work as well.10. Piano pedal markings removed and replaced with commas. It's a flaw of sheet music that slurs, ties, and phrase markings are all the same symbol, and having all three happening can clutter a score.Compromises This may sound obvious, but of course I had to make some alterations to make this flow properly on guitar. Many of the original chord inversions on the piano were not kept. However, many harmonies were kept intact as far as following the chord nomenclature name. Measure 50 was originally an A minor chord, the irony is that the F major suprise is an homage to Chopin anyways, suprised he didn't opt for it. To be honest, I don't like how there is a perfect authentic cadence in measure 50. I think modern audiences would want to clap too badly, so I believe that ending needs to be slightly messed up to propel the music forward, and give a sense that there is still a problem. The other chord that was changed was an E7b9 to a Ddim7 in measure 78. If you know your theory well, you'll realize these chords have the same exact function and nearly the same notes, it's just that Ddim7 flowed a bit better on guitar. I'd rather have guitarists play the rhythms correctly and with musicality, than have guitarist clunkily go though overly large chords in order to mantain historical accuracy. Measure 15 was hard to keep the original chord intact. A Bb/D with a G in the melody as a suspension sounds more like a g minor chord. That is cliche Chopinesque neopolitan moment so the Bb is crucial to mantain. Having some rough sort of Bbmaj7 or G minor chord while mantaining the melody seemed to sound the best even though the name of the chord might have gotten a little off. I tried chord charts, but they seemed messier than what it was worth. I also could have the denser tablature in the sheet music, but that does make it look 10x more intimidating. So this version is unique in that the tablature is my denser arrangement, whereas the sheet music would allow someone to quickly make a new arrangement. I like this ethos because most guitarists are likely to be much better at playing chord quickly when they don't have to have an exact voicing. This makes this arrangement easier to further perfect since I am naming the harmonies, which often isn't done in classical music.BackstoryThis is one of my favorite pieces, and also my favorite composer. I feel classical guitar repertoire is lacking easily playable music in the romantic style. Often, if it is romantic guitar music, it is extemely difficult and therefore only a select few can enjoy performing it. Also, I sometimes get my hopes up to find a romantic guitar composer, but then after listening, there's nothing quite like Chopin. Obviously, you will have to have some chops to play this since it's one of the most ambitious undertakings a guitarist could take, but it's also not so hard that you have to be train for a decade because I changed the key.

Cello,Cembalo,Violin - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1224544 Composed by Jose Bravo. Baroque,Chamber,Classical,Early Music. 107 pages. Jose Bravo #820650. Published by Jose Bravo (A0.1224544). From the Composer:I committed last year (2022) to review my musical works that have been in digital storage, complete them as necessary, and release them for the world to hear. I finally finished my first work on this list, one that's been on my hard drive in one version or another since 1999 (that's 24 whole years!).Las Follias de España (which despite its name, originally came from Portugal) is a chord progression usually in either D minor or G minor in the form of i-V-i-VII-III-VII-i-V. Composers for the last 500 years have used this chord progression to come up with some fantastic theme and variations, ranging from unaccompanied works, trio sonatas, to even full orchestral implementations. You can spend a looooong time listening to all the beautiful compositions that composers have made over the centuries highlighting this very captivating set of chords.I humbly submit my own version of La Folia in D minor for String Trio and Cembalo (harpsichord). I wrote my first version of this in my senior year of High School as a challenge to myself to write music in a genre I loved. I made updates here and there over the years, but its sat on a hard drive the entire time. It's taken me months to essentially rework it to my satisfaction and has been submitted for copyright. I have uploaded it to YouTube to share with others.BIG SHOUT OUTS to the three composers that inspired me in this work:Corelli: - His version of La Folia is probably the most popular for violinists, especially those that play out of the Suzuki books. I included a modified version of his Folia (Variation 9) in my work (with all other parts being vastly different from his interpretation) as an homage to his work.J.S. Bach - He showed me that music can be as intelligent as it is beautiful. I have two variations inspired by his work. Variation 8 is one that I wrote this year (2023) which I wanted to write for a long time is a variation that showcases the Harpsichord. Bach's keyboard works and unaccompanied violin works inspired me here. Second, Variation 14 I feel has Bach's inspiration all over it. The violin parts are each playing separate distinct melodies in double counterpoint which trade parts on the repeat. The bass line follows a pattern that Bach has employed for the bass on a number of Violin concertos and lastly, the Harpsichord treble part is a mensuration canon based on one of the violin parts, with the keyboard part playing the melody 4x as fast with variations. Lastly on a play of numbers, number 14 was a very special number for Bach, and as a tribute, I've made this the 14th variation in my work. This was also a new variation I added this year (2023) as well.Vivaldi - My first musical love. I feel that I captured a little bit of his musical DNA in all my works and this piece showcases this. Vivaldi's works is what made me fall in love with Baroque music and I am indebted to him for the profound impact his works have had on my life.So here you go. 413 measures. My longest individual work to date. And because I love playing with numbers, I decided to release this to the world on my 41st Year, 3rd month. Enjoy!- Jose Bravo.

Indeed, I got called in to sub on a solo violin wedding gig on less than 24 hours' notice, and found this song right at the top of the list. Having not played or listened to it in... a while, I decided to display some semblance of due dilligence and write out a version that would work in the range of a solo instrumental violin. Then, and don't ask me where this sudden magnanimous streak came from, I decided to spin up the same chart with lyrics and chord diagrams just in case I ever needed to play it with a vocalist.Out of the goodness of my heart, ALL of the above is available to you for the low low price of (insert current minimum price for SMP chart). While I was tabbing this out from the perspective of a violinist, the range is pretty universal and should be playable on just about any treble clef instrument. Including the viola... although if you got hired to play solo viola at a wedding or a church service I have questions. It's nothing spectacular, but here's what I can promise you if you buy this chart:- THE CHORDS ARE RIGHT. I honestly can't believe there are people that get the chords to worship songs wrong on their arrangements, but here we are. Rest assured I am not one of them.- YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ IT. Finale collisions and terrible interpretations of vocal rhythms need not apply here.- THE MELODY WILL WORK ON YOUR INSTRUMENT. Again, this is not one of those hyper-transcriptions of every little vocal ornament that was sang on the studio version. I purposefully chose where to simplify vs. embellish the melody so that there's room for instrumental interpretation without getting lost in the details.May this humble arranger's last-minute busy work bring joy to your audience and at least an extra 30 minutes of sleep to you by not having to learn this song the night before the gig. Arranged by Sylvia Miles. 20th Century,Children,Christian,Folk,Multicultural,World. Octavo. 3 pages. Sylvia Miles #733619. Published by Sylvia Miles (A0.1133463). Said to be based on a Czech folk melody, and originally written as the Carol of the Drum, this French version - L'Enfant au Tambour - doesn't mention Christmas at all. Instead, it's the story of a little boy's love for his father - who yesterday followed the soldiers' drums and went off to war. The boy, in his dream, tells the angels that he will give up his most precious possession - his drum - for his father's safe return. The angels, moved by his willingness to sacrifice, tell him that his father will return. He wakes, with his head on his drum. What a great story! What a fabulous song!
